Editing my photos

When I done the photoshoot I did not have access to a large clean black backdrop so i knew that i would have to use photoshop to edit any imperfections out of the background.
The image that I started with, for my front cover, looked like this:

In this picture there are quite a few white marks and smudges across the background that would make my image look messy.
On photoshop I used the smudge tool to help clear the white marks and this was the result:

This image has a much neater background and there are no white marks.

These are the images from the photoshoot I did with my model following the previous trial shoot. These pictures are much more successful than the others as I found the correct lighting for the pictures to come out clear and not blurry. I found that some of the images were still not successful due to costume and positioning but I had a lot more to work with for my magazine.

Make up

My model with have subtle natural make up as the image that female jazz singers had was very soft and elegant.

She will have red nail varnish on to match to colour scheme.

Text from my model

After the trial shoot I had to check with my model to make sure that she could meet with me on another day to do the shoot for my magazine.

What my model will wear

My model will be wearing a black and white knee length skirt in some of the images and will have a long black sophisticated dress for some of the others. Her hair has been curled as, from my research I found that the women had short curly hair which is why I chose a model with short hair. 

Trial Shoot

These are the images I took when I first met with my model to do trial shoot to test the lighting, costume and make up. I struggled to find a good lighting and positioning for the model for the images to look good and the images were really bad and unusable. The images show how the trial shoot was not a success but it prepared me for the real shoot so I knew what did not work.

I asked if it would be okay to meet with my model for a trial shoot to test clothing, lighting, make up and shots. 

Location

I will be taking my photos in my school, Chislehurst School for Girls. It will be in the Drama Studio against the large black boards.
