What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

There are only a few Jazz magazines in the UK which are published by very small companies such as Jazzwise and Jazz UK but are not well known by many people and are unlikely to be seen in local newsagents. Jazzwise uses a small company called the Mark Allen Group as they are not a very big magazine made by enthusiasts who like jazz and are not a proper company.

Bauer Media Group is a large European-based media company, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that manages a portfolio of more than 600 magazines around the world. They have approximately 11,000 employees in 17 countries. Bauer is the distributor of popular magazines such as 'Q' and 'KERRANG'. They also manage 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world.

I would want Bauer to be the company to produce my magazine as they are a large company who have be responsible for some of the large, popular magazines in the UK at the moment. With all the staff that Bauer have working over Europe they would be able to take care in my magazine ensuring that it had the correct time and attention to make my magazine successful.

'Q' are a sophisticated indie rock magazine who are one of the biggest music magazines. Although my magazine is a jazz magazine I would like my magazine to be like 'Q' as they have lots of interviews and articles from very famous musicians and are well recognised by many people. This why I think that Bauer is the right institution to distribute my magazine.
